Based on the results of our investigation, we have concluded that the product/system tested complies with the EMC Directive 2014/30/ EU based on conformity to the requirements of the standards referenced below. In accordance to the immunity requirements for CE Marks, the product was continuously monitored during the duration of all tests. No errors or degradation in performance was observed.
Review of the results indicates that the particulate concentration measured at the inlet of the ozone odour control system was 9.9 mg/m3, with a grease concentration of 9.1 mg/m3. The residual particulate concentration at the outlet of the system was 0.3 mg/m3, with a residual grease concentration of 0.9 mg/m3. The results show significant improvements to the trial in July 2018 and confirm that a fresh air feed to the ozone units improves ozone production significantly. The concentrations measured at the outlet of the system compared to the inlet reading as shown above give a 92.37% reduction in grease concentrations compared to 47% reduction in the July trial. In conclusion the trial has shown improved grease reduction during this trial, the introduction of fresh air feeds has played a major part in the improved performance of the ozocube odour and grease reduction system.
The ozone OCU system reduced the odour of the airstream by ~49%, with a residual odour concentration of 1815 ouE/m3 The character of the residual odour at the outlet of the system was predominantly of chemical, ozone, chlorine character, with a slight grease, food, and frying undertone, indicating that the residual odour concentration is influenced by ozone remaining in the system. This result shows an improved efficiency relative to the testing in July 2018 when the ozone system reduced the odour concentration of the extracted cooking airstream by 40%, with a residual geomean odour concentration of 2826 ouE/m3 and a residual odour character predominantly of grease and frying. The ozone OCU system appeared to increase the TVOC concentration from 7.2 mgC/m3 to 7.8 mgC/m3 following input of ozone into the system. In reality this result is likely to be due to the incomplete breakdown of the complex VOCs generated during cooking, resulting in an increased concentration of smaller VOC molecules with different response factors which lead to an apparent increase in TVOC concentration. It is probable that this is related to the increased concentration of ozone in the system which is achieving breakdown of a greater number of the VOCs released from the cooking process than during the previous study undertaken in July. The residual ozone concentration at the outlet of the system was on average 1.98 ppm . In comparison, the residual ozone concentration at the outlet of the system during the July assessment was lower, at 1.01 ppm. The elevated ozone concentration measured during this assessment is due to the increased ozone input through the use of three ozone generators, rather than the two used during the July study.
